Tiscali broadband being bought by Sky?
After interest from a number of telecomms companies - including Vodafone and The Carphone Warehouse - it looks as though Tiscali's UK broadband customer base will be sold to BSkyB. [Source: TimesOnline.co.uk]

Vodafone leaves Tiscali auction?
Vodafone has pulled out of the auction for fixed-line broadband company Tiscali, according to the Financial Times. This means Tiscali will probably be broken up into UK and Italian segments when sold. British Sky Broadcasting and The Carphone Warehouse are interested in the UK business, while Wind and Swisscom are after the Italian part. [Source: FT.com]

Carphone after Tiscali?
The Times reports that The Carphone Warehouse could make a bid for Tiscali after the Italian broadband operator was put up for sale this week. It's the fourth-largest UK broadband company after Virgin Media, BT and Carphone Warehouse-owned TalkTalk.

Tiscali to launch mobile service
Broadband company Tiscali is planning to introduce a SIM-only mobile phone service at the end of the year, according to the Daily Telegraph. The service will be based on ToucanMobile, which Tiscali acquired in 2007.
