China Mobile is world's most valuable mobile operator brand

China Mobile is the world's most valuable mobile network brand, according to a report in Mobile Communications International magazine. It's estimated to be worth $30.79 billion, based on a number of factors including customer numbers and its predicted growth rate. Vodafone was second ($22.13 billion) and Verizon was third ($20.38 billion). [Source: Telecoms.com]

Vodafone does Russian branding deal

Vodafone has agreed a partnership with Russia's Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) network that'll see Vodafone's products and services offered to MTS's 87 million subscribers across Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan. [Press release]

Orange launches new brand campaign

Orange is launching a new global brand campaign and a new vision. The branding will be premiered on UK televison this weekend with a 60-second I Am Everyman ad. Orange says its new vision is expressed in the phrase "together we can do more". [Press release]

Big brands aren't taking advantage of mobile advertising

Mobile advertising isn't convincing the big brands, according to a new report. Analysts at Informa Telecoms & Media say the global mobile advertising market will increase from around $1.72 billion (£880 million) in 2008 to $12.09 billion by 2013 - but most big brands are spending less than 0.5% of their advertising budget on mobile ads. Currently around 80% of mobile advertising revenue comes from mobile content providers. [Source: Telecoms.com]

Vodafone brand manager leaves

Vodafone is still the UK's most powerful brand, holding on to its leading position in the Millward Brown global brand ranking survey for the third year running.
